Timothy M. O’Shea, the United States Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin, announced that Craig Daskam from Beloit, Wisconsin, has been sentenced to four years in federal prison for possessing child pornography. The sentencing was handed down by Chief U.S. District Judge James D. Peterson and includes a subsequent ten-year supervised release period. Daskam is also required to pay $22,000 in assessments to support victims of child exploitation crimes. He had pleaded guilty to the offense on March 19, 2025.

In 2023, the FBI in Madison received information from FBI-Charlotte regarding Daskam’s receipt of child pornography. Following this report, a search of Daskam’s residence led to the seizure of multiple electronic devices containing numerous images and videos of child pornography.

During sentencing, Judge Peterson noted concerns about Daskam’s behavior being driven by an uncontrollable and dangerous impulse.

The investigation involved cooperation between FBI Madison, FBI Charlotte, and the Beloit Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Kathryn Ginsberg prosecuted the case.

This case is part of Project Safe Childhood (PSC), a national initiative aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse by coordinating efforts among federal, state, and local resources to identify offenders and rescue victims.
