In a compelling legal battle that underscores the complexities of trademark rights and business ethics, PartsBadger LLC has filed a lawsuit against Synventive Engineering LLC, DimensionalX LLC, and James G. Bloomfield. The complaint was lodged in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin on December 31, 2025. PartsBadger accuses these defendants of engaging in trademark infringement and unfair competition practices that threaten its business operations.
PartsBadger LLC, represented by attorneys from Smith Keane LLP, alleges that the defendants have unlawfully used its trademarks to mislead customers and vendors into believing there is an association between them. The plaintiff claims that Bloomfield, who previously served as an independent sales representative for PartsBadger until February 26, 2025, began soliciting business from PartsBadger’s clients using misleading email addresses and signature blocks that falsely suggested he was still affiliated with PartsBadger. The lawsuit highlights how Bloomfield purportedly used email domains such as “thepartsbadger.com” to create confusion about his association with PartsBadger.
The complaint details numerous instances where Bloomfield allegedly misrepresented his role and falsely claimed that Synventive Engineering or DimensionalX had acquired PartsBadger—a claim which the plaintiff asserts is entirely false. These actions are said to have caused significant confusion among customers and vendors, leading to lost business opportunities for PartsBadger. Furthermore, the lawsuit accuses the defendants of using PartsBadger’s trademarks without permission in their marketing efforts, which constitutes a violation of federal trademark laws under 15 U.S.C. § 1114 and § 1125(a).
PartsBadger seeks several forms of relief from the court to mitigate the damage caused by these alleged infringements. They request immediate injunctive relief to prevent further misuse of their trademarks by the defendants. Additionally, they seek monetary damages for profits lost due to this unfair competition and corrective advertising damages to restore their brand’s reputation. The plaintiff also demands that all materials containing their trademarks be destroyed and ownership of any infringing domain names be transferred back to them.
Representing PartsBadger in this case are attorneys Garet K. Galster, Melissa A. Spindler, and Jordan A. Liff from Smith Keane LLP. The case is being presided over by judges in the Eastern District of Wisconsin under Case Number: 25-cv-2060.
