A former Omro alderman, Jason A. Reeves, has pleaded guilty to a federal charge of receiving child pornography. The announcement was made by Brad D. Schimel, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.
Reeves, 44, admitted to the offense stemming from online activity in April 2025. He was charged under Title 18, United States Code, Section 2252A(a)(2)(A). According to prosecutors, he faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison and could receive up to 20 years. He may also be fined as much as $250,000 and will be required to register as a sexual offender under both state and federal law. Sentencing is scheduled before District Court Judge Byron B. Conway on February 20, 2026.
The investigation began after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) sent a CyberTip to the Wisconsin Department of Justice regarding suspected distribution of child pornography on October 16, 2024. This tip was forwarded to the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office based on an associated IP address. Law enforcement executed a search warrant at Reeves’ home on April 29, 2025, leading to the recovery of child pornography.
The case was investigated by the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office and the Green Bay office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant United States Attorney Daniel R. Humble is prosecuting the case.
“This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006, by the U.S. Department of Justice. Led by U.S. Attorneys’ Offices and the Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS), Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to better locate, apprehend and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims.” For more information about Project Safe Childhood, visit www.projectsafechildhood.gov.
