David E. Dejanovich, 52, of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, has been sentenced to 28 years in federal prison for receipt of child pornography. The sentence was handed down on October 1, 2025, by Senior United States District Judge William C. Griesbach.

Court records show that Dejanovich is a lifetime registrant on the Wisconsin Sexual Offender Registry due to prior convictions in Dodge County for two counts of second degree sexual assault of a child and one count of first degree sexual assault of a child. In 2015, he was also convicted in federal court for possession of child pornography and received a ten-year prison sentence followed by fifteen years of supervised release. While still under supervision from his previous conviction, Dejanovich was again found with child pornography after downloading it from the internet.

At sentencing, Judge Griesbach described the crime as very serious and emphasized the need for deterrence. He noted Dejanovich’s history of abusing children as an important factor in determining the length of the sentence. After completing his prison term, Dejanovich will remain on supervised release for life and must continue to register as a sex offender under both state and federal law.

The investigation was conducted by the Oshkosh Police Department and the Green Bay Office of United States Probation and Parole. Assistant United States Attorney Daniel R. Humble prosecuted the case.

This prosecution falls under Project Safe Childhood, an initiative started by the U.S. Department of Justice in May 2006 aimed at fighting child sexual exploitation and abuse nationwide by coordinating efforts among federal, state, and local agencies to apprehend offenders who exploit children online and to help rescue victims.
