The U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin has started accepting online payments for non-criminal court fees and criminal debt. Non-criminal court fees include charges such as filing and copy fees, while criminal debt refers to payments like restitution, fines, and special criminal assessments.

The court emphasized that it cannot process payments intended for a U.S. Bankruptcy Court, another federal court, or any state court. Individuals are advised to ensure their payment is meant for this specific district court before proceeding.

In addition to the new online option, the court continues to accept personal money orders, personal checks, and cashier’s checks. Online payments can be made using credit cards, debit cards, or ACH transfers through Pay.gov.

For further information or assistance with payments, individuals are encouraged to contact the clerk’s office at (608) 264-5156.
